Gathering for the 52nd time, citizens, volunteers, and sponsors again came together at the Hall to celebrate community, compassion, and service at the Westborough Community Thanksgiving Dinner. Over 140 guests enjoyed a traditional Thanksgiving dinner of turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, squash, mashed potatoes, fresh rolls, fruit cup, cider, and of course, pie! Making this celebration possible were the more than 60 energetic volunteers happy to devote their time, skills, and energy to this important community event.
This year, Roberta Sylvester Brown stepped up to manage this complex operation. Her father and chef emeritus, Bobby Sylvester was on hand to provide the gentle guidance in the kitchen he is known for. The committee, that did much of the planning and preparation for the big event, included Jay Woodman, Tom Shea, Rick Brown, Tari Shea, and Mark Brady.
As part of a joint effort with the Senior Center, Senior Center Staff coordinated and packed an additional 50 meals for delivery to homebound citizens by Town employees. The funding for these meals was also partially covered by the generous groups and businesses listed below.
